Most dishes are shareable, and smoked, grilled, or roasted, a nod to the restaurant's name. Beef tartare is served with dollops of smoked oyster aioli; roasted broccoli is dressed in ​chermoula; and the can't-miss brisket is smoked and served over cornbread purée. Lest you think the dessert menu seems a bit much with its poached pears and blue cheese ice cream, direct your eyes to the very bottom, where it says: "Yes, we have s'mores." Crisis, averted."The Infatuation: "Carlsbad’s Campfire is a hybrid indoor-outdoor restaurant that looks like the setting from Moonrise Kingdom. It feels like you’re eating in a cabin that you could never afford with rustic touches like outdoor bonfires, teepees, and s’mores that you cook yourself. Live fire cooking is the drill here, so expect everything, from whole fish to steaks to even broccoli, to come out smokey and nicely charred. The cocktails are excellent, too."
