PIERRE HERME:

The OG of Paris Macarons, but perhaps less known than the classic Ladurée. Pierre Hermé cafes are all over Paris. Their Macaroons rival Ladurée’s, but the prices are a bit more reasonable, and the experience a bit faster with less lines!

ARNAUD LARHER:

Arnaud Larher offers a great variety of flavors. The macarons are always fluffy and perfectly baked. Arnaud Larher offers more than just macarons! They have a whole host of other pastries and confections from fruity curds to flaky baked tarts!

MACARON X ADDICT:

Best part about this shop? everything is organic and fair trade! That way you can eat, feeling good about avoiding preservatives and ensuring your are getting fresh flavors every time! You really can taste the freshness in Macaron x Addict’s flavors. The jams and curds are house made and have incredibly vibrant flavors! Enjoy Paris’s greatest treat with just a little less guilt . . . that way you can eat more!

LADUREE:

Ladurée

The Big Poppa of Macaron shops! If you enjoy macaron’s you have heard of Ladurée! Ladurée is perhaps the most well known name in macarons. Ladurée’s macarons are simply perfect. They offer a variety of flavors, even some chocolate dipped! Ladurée offers elegance in pastel, with each cafe being delicately decorated with beautiful easter egg colors, really putting you in the mood for a sweet treat! In my opinion, the best Pistachio macaron in the world!

MAISON MULOT:

Eat

Maison Mulot - Saint Germain des Prés

Typical price per person

$0-25
$$$$
Local Favorite

This adorable shop is a vision of elegance and simplicity. Maison Mulot offers more than just macarons; they also feature a grand selection of cakes, patisserie, and tartes. The macarons at Maison Mulot are delicate and petite, perfect size for eating several in one sitting. While the flavors rotate, the Nougat macaron is a unique favorite!

My recommendation: complete this “Macaron Trail of Paris” and acquire at least one macaron from each shop. Then, at the end of your long day of adventure, sit down in one of Paris’s charming parks and have yourself a taste test.

Enjoy!
